ChatGPT your blogs?

Client-only newsletter.

This is the first of a multi-part post about using AI to create content for your digital marketing. I’ll address questions of effectiveness, correctness, and ethics.

Part 1: Does it work?

DOES IT WORK?

Short answer: It’s amazing.

Long answer: …with a lot of room for disaster.

WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT?

I’ve been experimenting with ChatGPT, a new AI* chatbot from OpenAI which is very, very good at understanding** prompts and responding in text.

THE RESULT

Amazing.

Here is the full, unedited text of the blog post I had ChatGPT generate on the prompt: Write a facial plastic surgery blog post in about 500 words on the top 5 uses of botox.

Botox has become one of the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatments available today. The product is a purified form of the botulinum toxin type A and has been approved by the FDA for use in facial rejuvenation. Botox works by temporarily paralyzing the muscles responsible for creating wrinkles and fine lines on the face, creating a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance. Here are the top five uses of Botox in facial plastic surgery.

  1. Softening Forehead Wrinkles

One of the most common uses of Botox is to soften forehead wrinkles. These wrinkles are caused by repetitive muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, or raising eyebrows. Botox injections into the forehead muscles can help reduce the appearance of these wrinkles, creating a smoother and more youthful appearance.

  1. Smoothing Crow’s Feet

Crow’s feet are wrinkles that appear at the corners of the eyes when a person smiles or squints. These wrinkles can be effectively treated with Botox injections. By injecting Botox into the muscles responsible for creating crow’s feet, the wrinkles can be softened or eliminated, giving the eyes a more youthful appearance.

  1. Lifting Eyebrows

As we age, our eyebrows can begin to droop, creating a tired or sad appearance. Botox can be used to lift the eyebrows, creating a more youthful and alert appearance. By injecting Botox into the muscles responsible for pulling the eyebrows down, the muscles that lift the eyebrows can become more dominant, resulting in a natural-looking lift.

  1. Reducing “Bunny Lines”

“Bunny lines” are the wrinkles that appear on the sides of the nose when a person smiles or laughs. These lines can be treated with Botox injections by relaxing the muscles responsible for creating them. By injecting small amounts of Botox into these muscles, the wrinkles can be softened or eliminated, resulting in a smoother, more youthful appearance.

  1. Treating Chin Dimples

Some people have small dimples on their chin that can become more pronounced when they speak or make certain facial expressions. These dimples can be treated with Botox injections by relaxing the muscles responsible for creating them. By injecting small amounts of Botox into these muscles, the dimples can be softened or eliminated, resulting in a smoother, more youthful appearance.

Botox injections can be a great option for patients who want to rejuvenate their appearance without undergoing surgery. The treatment is quick, relatively painless, and requires no downtime, making it a convenient option for many people. If you are considering Botox injections, it is important to choose a qualified and experienced provider who can help you achieve the results you desire.

In conclusion, Botox injections can be a great option for patients who want to rejuvenate their appearance and reduce the signs of aging. The product can be used to soften forehead wrinkles, smooth crow’s feet, lift eyebrows, reduce bunny lines, and treat chin dimples. If you are considering Botox injections, it is important to consult with a qualified and experienced provider who can help you achieve the results you desire.

WHY DO THIS AT ALL?

Long answer:

One of the most effective SEO tools in our toolbox is to create new, keyword-rich text, regularly. And a great way to do this is by blogging. If you can blog a couple times a month, writing about topics related to what you do, you will signal to Google that your site is relevant to those topics.

Some of the best success I’ve had as an SEO has been to find topics that people ask Google about and help my clients create content, like:

  • What is the recovery from hair transplant like?
  • How does Rhinoplasty work?
  • What activities should I avoid after facial fillers?

If you continually create content like this, and you are doing the other SEO essentials, you will begin to see traffic to your blogs. Do it enough and well, and it will be a lot of traffic. Google will see this surge in traffic as a signal and will start increasing all of your keyword rankings, including the ones you really care about.

Short answer:

The more keyword-rich text, published regularly, the better for SEO.

HOW WE DID THIS BACK IN 2022

I used to (and still do) collaborate with a professional content writer and my physician clients to create compelling and accurate blogs about facial plastic surgery.

But let’s face it, we’re creating this content as much for Google as we are human visitors. The point has always been for the rankings, to get eyeballs in front of your Services, About pages, and Gallery.

So for blogs written at least in part for machines, why not (at least in part) write them by machines? I know it would make my life easier.

WOULD GOOGLE BUY IT?

Probably. We’ll explore that more in later parts.

WHAT COULD GO WRONG?

Plenty. More on that in a later part as well.

UNTIL THEN

I’ll leave you with a quote from sci-fi author and coiner of “cyberspace,” William Gibson:

“The future is already here – it’s just not evenly distributed.”

Yours Truly,
